Apparently there has been a minor uproar over something Stephen Fry said in a Q & A session following his BAFTA speech.

Then Ron Liddle adds a little snark. Unlike Fry, this is pretty much what we'd call trolling on the ol' internet.

A New York Times article about the 'Americanization' of mental illness. It really makes me think about my own condition. I've received therapy, but these days I'm pretty much 'just' getting meds. While that's a great relief, it does treat emotions and social interaction in a sorta mechanistic way. A squeaky wheel must have oil.

So, our government has started sending refugees back to Iraq. We all knew that they were in negotions with the Iraqi government to start repartriation, but it came fast and without warning. Even Danish Red Cross were caught with their pants down, and has only been sparingly informed of how far the negotiations were. Consequently communication with ( Read more... )
