I attended a weekend clinic at Alhambra with California event rider, James Alliston. Tyson and I got to try out the new (but very old and FREE) trailer. Meet Tumnus! Tyson decided he would rather not just sit and watch me ride all the time (he generally comes out 3-4 times a week with me) and bought this young guy. Now I have reservations about him getting an unstarted horse but at the same time, he seems to have a good head on his shoulders and likes a job so hopefully it will work out ( Read more... )

Had a lesson with Whin last night. We started out trying to get a nice stretchy trot and get that relaxed back feel but Whin would just curl up and then root down. Rode my pony in her first jumping lesson last night.  She was so good!  Steph rode Reign as well so we weren't alone and it went very well.  Whin loves jumping and is very brave. This spring we painted all the jumps on the property so they're all bright and fancy.  Despite her first time over fences we jumped a course including a cute little oxer, ( Read more... )

I took the day off work yesterday to go to Beaumont with the Rhiannon gang and school cross country. No, Whin has not jumped before but I was ok just putzing around and going through the water and walking and trotting over some little logs.  A positive day out is what I had in mind and it was lovely and sunny so perfect weather for it ( Read more... )

Back to work today but the Easter weekend was quite nice though I didn't feel like I got much rest as usual. I spent Tuesday and Wednesday baking a shark cake for Tyson's birthday which almost killed me. It's the first time I have worked with fondant and I must say, there is a definite learning curve.
