Made it back! Mexico was a lot of fun.
The pools at night.
I was definitely sick of the resort by the end of the week and very excited to get home but the overall, it was beautiful and sunny. Tyson and I had a great time together and I really enjoyed travelling with him. He also got along very well with my mom and brother which was super. Monday, Ryan and Tyson got drunk from 10am on. Mom and I left them at the Disco at 11pm and Tyson came home loser drunk and proceded to spend the rest of the night puking. He claims he was drugged as he says he was drunk the entire night but some guys he was chatting with got him a drink and then he said he could barely move his limbs or speak. It was lovely. Monday then became dubbed "Mojito Monday" as Ryan and Tyson both spent "Reovery Tuesday" sleeping it off.
Wednesday we just hung around on the beach and by the pools. I got tons of reading done as well!
THursday, Ryan and Tyson went deep sea fishing for what was supposed to be four hours. 8.5 hours later, after mom and I called our travel agent to start tracking them down, they turned up. Turns out at 3.5 hours into the trip, they caught an 80 kg blue marlin and spent the next 4 hours trying to reel it in. It took them all along the coast up to Cancun. Both were exhausted but pumped as it's a rarer fish to catch and Marlin Thursday was born.
The actual marlin.
Friday Tyson and I went horseback riding at
http://ranchobaaxal.com/ and I would totally reccomend it to anyone heading that direction! There was four of us and two guides. The one guide (Olympus?) was a show jumper, trainer and farrier and his dream is to go to spruce meadows. Our other guide Steffi, was a german biologist who moved to Mexico. The horses are all rescue horses of some form; they all had fly boots, masks and blankets on and were all of good weight. My guy, Pantera, was a bit on the chunky side actually. Dogs ran beside us the entire time and I felt like I was on a trail ride with some friends.
Pantera and I.
The afternoon the four of us went to Playa and wandered around and had a great meal. Mom found this lamp she really liked at a store but they were quite heavy (a marbel box essentially) and she had no way to take it. Tyson and I went back the next morning first thing and picked it up for her as a belated mother's day present.
Last dinner in Mexico.
Tyson rocking the shorts mom bought for my brother and he refused to wear!
Work has been very busy since I've been back. June will be my busiest month this year so far for sure. I'm gone at minimum 2 weeks for work so definitely will not be making it to the Rocky event. :(
AND....Tyson is moving in! Temporarily thank god as I'm actually fairly stressed about life right now. He's paying 2/3s of everything and is fixing some stuff around my place. Oden isn't a worry but I am a bit concerned about Echo in my place. She still chews on things she's not supposed to, gets into the garbage etc so...
It's definitely too soon for me to actually seriously think about living with him but it will be interesting to see how I handle someone coming into MY space. Little worried about it for sure. Tyson has seen a few places and has another viewing on Saturday so I imagine it will only be a month or two at most. We shall see.
Also. Got an IUD (hormone free) inserted on Tuesday. Pain was very unique. They had to dilate my cervix which was interesting. I was moderately crampy for about a half hour and then the cramps turned into minor period cramps taht I am very used to. I have no spotting and have had no cramps since that day. So far, I'm a fan!!!
