Cooler weather, a bit more of what I once would have called spring. Currently it's cloudy and 71˚F in Providence.

Bright and sunny here in Providence. Why is it we find it necessary to say a day is both "bright" and "sunny," given that sunny days will be, by default, bright? We've already reached the forecast high of 53˚F. I suppose I ought open the curtain in my office and let in some light.

This nor'easter - Athena* - brought us an inch or two of snow last night. It would have been a lot more, had the weather been colder. I didn't think there would be any accumulation, but it was falling faster than it could melt. Today, rain has melted most of it, and the fierce wind is beginning to abate. As I write, warmish (73˚ Fahrenheit) and overcast and very windy here in Providence. I have the window open a few inches, and the air out there smells clean. I wish I were at Beavertail.

The last two episodes of Season Four of House M. D. are, without a doubt, the most emotionally devastatingly and beautifully written television I've seen since...I don't know. A long damn time. Television doesn't make me cry, but I cried. Astounding. Television, even from Fox, can be brilliant.
