I've spent much of the week trying to find the source of a beeping sound in the house. Doesn't matter what room you're in, it sounds like in it's in another one. Originally it beeped a couple times a day, but by today it was up to every ten minutes. I thought it might be the smoke alarm, but I changed the battery in it and that had no effect. I think...I THINK...it's fully set up and ready to go. And Mom spent all day yesterday reading on it. Fingers crossed she'll keep using it and no difficulties with gadgets arise. So far today, I have had 2 backup drives fail, the internet has shut off 3 times of its own accord, and it turned out the Kindle doesn't like pdfs or epubs. The epub was my mistake, I didn't catch that the Kindle doesn't do those, but the pdfs were supposed to work and they're screwy. Yesterday was not bad for a Monday. I shoulda known better. As I was getting ready for bed, I saw CJ had inflicted yet more damage on her crate, so I spent a lot of time - and a lot of stress on my hands - rewiring and zip-tying the thing back together. Mom and I decided to try having a spa day. We went whole hog - facial, body treatment, massage, manicure & pedicure. Mom was ecstatic. I was merely pleased. Because that's how much my right hand hurts. Typing is a big owie. Also my back hurts and I just got over a short term stomach virus.
