The kittens started walking on their little paws last Tuesday night.  They wandered around and around in their crate.  Today two have actually crawled out, much to their mother's consternation.  She insisted they were too young to leave.  At any rate they are curious and come to the sides of the crate for attention when we walk by.  I think ( Read more... )

I've been busy and it's nice. Today after I took the kids to school I went strait downtown to look at the bike shop R recommended. I found a parking place very near and picked out a bike for Y. It's been a busy day. I did research for the book I may write, "Fun with Cesspools." I learned some intricacies of plumbing of which I had been ignorant. In the end, I just don't have the tools to do what needs to be done. No way am I going to pay a plumber. There are tree roots that block the pipe from one of the sinks. Every time E comes to visit, she ends up covered in mud. Sometimes she is wearing some of H's clothes. But if not, I race to get her clothes washed and dried before she goes home. Her dad knows it's normal for kids to get dirty, but he reacts emotionally rather than logically. His mom died of food poisoning and he ended up raising his six ( Read more... )

It was a busy day. Ya has had a sore throat since Wednesday. Today she had a very slight fever as well. I took her to get a throat culture done. Our doctor wasn't in, so I took her to the pediatrician. He is always blase`, which is why I transferred back to a family doctor. Usual horrible Friday. Shabbat was okay. E stayed over night. The kids walked to the dam with the cousins and various other relatives. Luckily they wore boots. They said the best part was jumping in puddles. The cousins stayed with their aunt. I'm glad they don't live here anymore.
