The kittens started walking on their little paws last Tuesday night.  They wandered around and around in their crate.  Today two have actually crawled out, much to their mother's consternation.  She insisted they were too young to leave.  At any rate they are curious and come to the sides of the crate for attention when we walk by.  I think tomorrow I will have to put the crate on the floor so they don't get hurt by falling off the buffet, if they keep deciding to explore.

There was a dead bird on the sidewalk  today.  I called the city info number to ask if I was supposed to do anything specific, what with bird flu in the area.  He said there was no danger in the city and if it was just one bird, all was well.  That is what I imagined, as we often find a bird that has fallen from its nest in that spot during spring.  I told him I believed that was the case when I asked the question.  Still, it was kind of worrisome.

I did another round of planting today.  Finished all but some things I am going to pot. But!  When I was waiting for the kids to get their hair cut on Friday, I got a flier for yet another nursery!  Whee!  Okay, maybe this is another addiction.  But at 10 shekels for 30 liters, compost is much cheaper than chocolate.

All in all, a good day.  I managed to do a lot and be involved with the kids.  We had some gigglefests that were interspersed with uncontrolled snorting.  And the kids helped clean up their messes. That certainly lightened my mood.

I called G on Friday afternoon to ask if E could sleep over.  We do it that way, so that E won't drive them insane if we invite her and she isn't allowed to come.  If it's okay, we hand the phones over and let H invite E herself.  I had forgotten that G's dad is visiting from New Zealand and will only be here for two weekends.  She did let E come down this afternoon though, and the kids had a great time.
