The flooding in Nashville has started to recede, but it will be a long time before Music CIty is back to normal. Many parts of the city are still under water. President Obama has now declared it a federal disaster area. Many people may criticize him for this. Please pray, send good vibes or whatever your choice is to all my friends in Nashville. It is not good at all. The city has practically shut down. Everyone I have gotten ahold of is safe for now, but it is still raining. I'm heading back to BG in a few minutes, so hopefully, I won't hit anything bad. Below is news footage from yesterday.

One benefit of having a best friend whose partner is a VP at Clear Channel Radio is getting frequent updates on the weather directly from the National Weather Service when you are trying to plan a fabuolusly fun birthday weekend with said best friend(except for that one birthday a few years ago, but that's a whole 'nother story).

And fortunately I don't have to go out in it. The day started near 60 yesterday morning when I left to take Aunt Nancy for her final Christmas shopping, and the temperature plummetted throughout the day.  Winter is upon us in Kentucky. Much of the state is under and ice storm warning until 8 in the morning. I'd rather have all of Lisa's snow than even a thin layer of ice. I can drive in snow.  That I DESPISE single digit temperatures??? It got down to 9 last night.  The slow walk out to the car this morning was less than pleasant. Fortunately, Mom's still chauffeuring me around, so she let me out as close to a door as possible. It's supposed to get back into the 50s by Sunday, but til then, it will stay blue cold!

 Nelda and I had a wonderful time yesterday. the play at Kentucky Rep was called And Then They Came For Me.  As I said yesterday, it was about the Holocaust. Turns out it was actually a multi-media production about two Holocaust survivors. Above the stage, they ran clips from interviews with the between the actions on the stage. It was 55 degrees out when I left the house this morning. I actually almost took a jacket. The walk up the hill to my building wasn't bad, at all. The sky is bright and cloudless. Unfortunately, this promises to be the long-assed day from hell.

I can't wait 'til fall REALLY gets here. I'm especially hoping for nice weather next weekend.

Well, today I gave my final in my summer class and tonight I "celebrate" by going to see Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix with Janet. Tonight and tomorrow, I will grade and average, then post by Friday at noon. Nice indoor activities.
