It was a dark and stormy night...
Boy, is it! The rain has been pretty hard several times and there's been thunder and lightening. the lights even flickered once. I've had a rather pleasant evenng overall, though. The rain is supposed to continue through the night and into the morning before letting up.
I picked Mom up from work about 4:15 and decided to take her out for an early birthday dinner. Since it was so early, we missed the dinner rush and were able to get a table at Mariah's, a nice local place that we both like. I ordered the Derby City Hot Brown(this sliced turkey on whole wheat toast, with bacon, covered in a mushroom sauce topped with tomato and cheese sauce) and Mom got chicken. It was a nice dinner and best of all, I ate my entire meal!! That's quite an accomplishment fo rme, considering the state of my appetite since Igot out ofthe hospital in March. Since it wasn't crowded, we were able to enjoy a leisurely meal. Her birthday isn't until the 12th, but since yesterday was payday for the month, I figured I'd go ahead and take while I knew I had the money. I'll get her some books for her actual birthday.(She's a reader, too.)
We got home close to six o'clock and Mom ran to the grocery, while I watched a little tv. If the rain lets up, I'm going up to see my friend Janet at work. This is her last weekend to work for the school year.
