This morning, I listened to a Podcast about the history of the Ottoman empire. I hadn't realised how long it had lasted for - centuries, all the way up to almost modern times; the podcast talked about Ottoman people wearing jeans/suits, for goodness sake. I think it was Paul McGann's narration that made me enjoy it more; it was enthralling.

I do try to smile at people when I can, but it can be hard. I just ended up not being in a people mood on my late walk today, and just crossed to avoid them. I was in the mindset of I don't want to see them, and they don't want to see me. Too many cyclists on the footpath too, but I always get the sense that they feel entitled to go where they like ( Read more... )
