Zebra Plant Succulents are native to desert-like conditions and/or habitats in South Africa. The common name, 'Zebra Plant', is due to this succulent's stripes and its uncanny resemblance to the Zebra. For those of you who may not know, all four of my Jade Tree succulents and my Zebra Plant succulent and three Mexican Seedums have flowers developing. Are Zebratail succulents native here? If not, where are they from. Just curious.

Hello there! I'm new to plants, having previously been convinced that they would wilt and die at the mere sight of me. Then my girlfriend gave me a cactus and it didn't die, and now I'm a little obsessed with succulents.

I bought this plant from the Eden Project and it initially looked pretty happy.

I'm not having much luck with my window boxes if I don't water them every other day. Those poor boxes get full sun all day combined with the heat it's just too much for them. The same flowers below in my planter beds do fine with the rain water and ground moisture. I'm thinking succulents are the best way to go ( Read more... )

I found some gorgeous succulents at my local greenhouse this week, so I bought them! Now, I'd like to learn more about them. Any suggestions?

I just moved this winter and now that spring is coming in, I uncovered what the previous owners had planted. I'm not sure what some of it is though because apart from container roses and a few houseplants, I'm new to gardening. I live in Iowa, zone 5.
