I came across this little herb that had sprouted through concrete. It looks like catnip but smells of black licorice.

Any ideas as to what it might be?

I was watching this year's Chelsea Flower Show on the BBC and they were talking about a plant called Labrador Tea (Rhododendron groenlandicum) which I think I'd like to add to my garden. I harvested Greek oregano this morning, right before it blossomed. I set it into drying trays in the garage, which is perfect for our low humidity summer. The oregano stems that remain after cutting may even produce a second crop ( Read more... )

I love growing herbs, they are so useful, aromatic and attractive. Problem is, they can get woody and the areas around them become weed infested. So I decided to do a bit of controlled herb planting. This was the idea I came up with for my narrow driveway side garden.

STEVIAI've wanted to try to grow Stevia for awhile but never ordered seeds. I found a Stevia plant on clearance(for $1!) at the grocery store. I red some online and read to trim it back to about 8 inches which I did and that leaves will root in potting soil. this is kind of a tall order. Ive been asked to supply a list of 'healing' plants for a medicinal herb garden but its SHADE! dappled shade, I wouldnt even call it part shade.

Alright, in November I think I bought a Chamomile plant on super sale. It was dying and 50 cents, and I thought, "What the heck!" I suck it in my garden and it's much healthier now, but I don't know what to expect. It's still short, like 3 inches... can I get my hopes up in seeing some little flowers or should I just sort of expect it to die? O_O
