The Orionid meteor shower may put on a good show tonight. Especially if you don't live in a dense urban area (like me :P ), it could definitely be worth staying up a bit later to check it out. Best viewing is likely between 1 AM and dawn, local time.

Mandy's out stargazing with a telescope we took a chance on for $20 from a thrift store, and text messaging me periodic updates. My personal favorite (immediately following "It's hard to find things with a telescope"): "I need a voice-operated telescope. This one doesn't respond to 'The Pleiades, damn you.'"

Forty years ago, humans walked on the moon for the first time. Seriously, is that not kind of amazing when you think about it?
