I'm sorry I've been posting about this a lot, but I don't know where else to turn. I called my insurance today, and was basically told I was given completely false information. Nothing about gender identity is covered on plan, so i have to pay my monthly, but then still pay %100 of my doctor visits. I'm going to be shown how to do my shots myself ( Read more... )

Back in January when I first signed up for my insurance plan (I"m with BCBS) I asked at least 3 different people if the plan I had covered getting T-shots. All of them told me yes, it was covered. I was told my plan covered 100% of my shots and that I had no deductible. And now I'm being told I have a $6000 deductible and that my shots are not ( Read more... )

I have BCBS and I was told that my T is covered on my perscription plan and basically was told that everything is covered. So I went to my GP for my first two shots. Then just today I recieved a letter saying I owed the Doctor's office $314 because a procedure wasn't covered. I can only assume this would be me going in to have my shot done. In ( Read more... )

HERE'S THE DEAL: I need to gather information (i.e. articles from medical journals) to prove to insurance that there is no medical reason to take hormones before getting top surgery. Help me find this info!

Insurance wont cover testosterone -- I have Blue Cross. I was told there's always a way to get it covered, it just depends on how it's being coded. Do you know of any ways to code it (say, an endocrine disorder) that might work?

Does anyone have a copy of MassHealth's insurance policy for gender dysphoria?

What are valid medical contraindications to taking testosterone?

Is being bipolar one?

Or being advised not to bind because binding caused back problems, and not being able to bind while taking testosterone would create cognitive dissonance?

Any suggestions? I need insurance to waive hormones for top surgery coverage.
