I have a chance in about 2 months time to talk to some 2nd year dental students about disability for an hour. While I cover disability support from the uni, I also cover disability issues in dentistry to try and make them think about the experience of accessing dentistry as a disabled person ( Read more... )

Can you help evalangui with this? I don't know Ev but I like what she's saying. People learn foreign languages to let them communicate with more people, not to learn narrow ablist stereotypes.

Belatedly, I've noticed this on one of our fellow LJ communities. Am I right to think that HOH means 'hard of hearing'? If so, people who sign or know about signing might want to fill out the questionnaire. I've invited the author to look at what we say here about signing.
