This is a reminder that, here in Britain, we're offered a referendum. Do we want to leave the European Union (Brexit) or stay in it (Bremain)?

Here in Britain, today is Disabled Access Day. Had you heard of it? I hadn't, until the radio mentioned it this morning.

Right now I'm on my way to some of the businesses where I shop - SPENDING MONEY - there aren't enough businesses earning my money. Why not? If you need to ask that, you don't know enough about accessibility.

Disabled fans and creators are kept out of too many sci fi conventionsSeveral well known people, including prominent members of the Science Fiction and Fantasy writers of America, are now making a pledge not to attend conventions that do not take accessibility seriously ( Read more... )

I have a chance in about 2 months time to talk to some 2nd year dental students about disability for an hour. While I cover disability support from the uni, I also cover disability issues in dentistry to try and make them think about the experience of accessing dentistry as a disabled person ( Read more... )

Does this electronic flyer make the People's Climate March look accessible? To me it doesn't.

No doubt if one of us disabled people asked the right questions we'd be included in some way. But some of us don't want to add the task of asking questions to all the other tasks our disabilities require. More tasks than a less ablist world would require
