I've not really done very much in the past year in the SCA.

Without going into a lot of detail, there were a couple of people in the SCA that I did not want to associate with that were beginning to stalk/harass me, and it was not worth the trouble of fending them off constantly.

Many Many moons ago (before 1994), Lady Ringaila Isch Ilglos Balos taught me how to do embroidery in the style of the Bayeux Tapestry. She taught me how to do Laid and Couched work, and Outline Stitch.

Then she promptly put me to work helping her embroider the Godelind Tapestry. This was done in perle cotton on cotton, so that it could be laundered ( Read more... )

Well, It's been kind of a down and busy week mundanely, My kitchen has had a roof leak from the heavy rains (flat roof over kitchen) and I'm dealing with getting that (permanently) fixed. Some plaster fell Wednesday from getting waterlogged so we had to deal with that. More later on this on my mundane blog.

Yesterday I let the robe hang all day, and when I got home I removed the the rusty safety pins and one loose pin from where it had been hemmed at the bottom. (The huge hem was put in it by someone other than who made the garment so it can be opened back up.)

In an earlier post, I mentioned a garage sale find of an electric blue sleeveless chinese long jacket with gold dragons embroidered on it.

My goal is to re-hab it for drmrsgal into a Mongolian "Del" (hopefully sleeveless).

As posted here:  my-lady-f.livejournal.com/71788.html , we have received a financial reprieve, at least through the end of the year.

So, as long as nothing BAD happens, (health issues, auto issues, tree fall on house, etc), we should be able to be financially better by the holidays. Then it will be back to stressing.

While everyone else is heading to Atlanta to attend Dragon Con, I'll be  heading North to Knoxville to house-sit for my parents up in Knoxville. Konrad is staying at home, so I'll have a huge big screen TV three cats and a noisy cockateil to distract me while I work on my embroidery.
