My whirlwind trip (two days round-trip by train for one day at Winterthur) to Wilmington, Delaware was a super experience. I am quite behind on posting. It's been a flurry of activity here: I had and got over a cold, apartment shopped, attended school open houses, went to cooking class, toured the Japanese part of town, welcomed home hubby, and of course sewed, embroidered and went to London.

Not much getting done around here, except thrashing around bemoaning my illness. But I have to be well by friday, because Saturday I am making a daytrip to London to the V&A Museum for the medieval/renaissance study day co-sponsored by the Costume Society and MEDATS. On friday I saw the special exhibit at Versailles called "Louis XIV, the Man and the King". It was really cool and all, but... well I was disappointed that no part of the exhibit was dedicated to how he influenced fashion and the related industries! France has an annual Night at the Museum where many of the national museums have free entry after regular hours end, and they add something special - like having musicians play, or the architecture museum had a candle-lit exhibit, or a specially lit night viewing of a garden.
