Pi-Con wants to have a drum circle, but needs people to run said circle. From what I am told, the qualifications of helping run the circle are having a bunch of drums that you are willing to let people use. I do not mind being out of touch as I used to. This is because I am no longer exclusively in charge of anything. Nothing will fall apart if I leave it for three days. What I do mind is bring partially in touch. Having enough information to know that something is wrong but not enough connection to be able to deal with it. Pi-Con was awesome. We had our issues in the planning through the year, but everything came together. Ultimately, a con is a bunch of people in a place, and if those people are good, the con is good. Our people are amazing, and thus so is our con. I'll try to post more when I have a chance ( Read more... )

2Pi-Con is pretty awesome. It has a bit of a different feel from last year. Certainly not bad, but different. Last year, everything was new. This year, we are doing new things, but there is less of a sense of blazing new trails. On the plus side, it means that we are making less freshman mistakes.
