So, Dad called from a train station in Beijing because (JUST FOR KICKS) he decided that he wanted to ride on the high speed train to Tianjin, about 73 miles (117 km) away. It's mid-Autumn festival today (or technically tomorrow)! *____* That means somewhere, somehow, all the Chinese at our uni will congregate in our University Center and have mooncakes, haha. My brother is dangerously close to invoking the wrath of my Mom, Dad and half my relatives.

( Not including airplane tickets, he just cost us about 500 bucks for losing three out of four contacts, another 200 bucks for Chinese violin lessons, and a whole lot of other crap. )

The most random place I've ever seen in New York. It's only an hour drive north of Jersey, but it feels like we've stepped into old fashioned Europe. It's a really nice place to go if you like scenic trips (or if you're in the tri-state area).
