I worked all day yesterday because at least 3 people requested it off, but I didn't mind because I didn't have any plans for Valentine's Day (I never do!) and I got a few extra hours overtime. Pearl, a resident who had recently turned 103, died on New Year’s Day. It wasn’t the most surprising thing she died considering she was 103 and she had been on hospice for the last few months. Merry Christmas! I worked all day - from 6:30 am to 7:30 pm! I only like working all day on paid holidays because you get paid time and a half, so ka ching! Yesterday there was a HUGE fire in the kitchen! It was really scary! Carol, the Executive Director at HP asked four of us from the dining staff if we could work this extra this weekend for about four hours in the evening to help out the nursing staff because they are low on staff at the moment. My work had Employee Appreciation Day yesterday and Tuesday and a portable coffee shop called Jo on the Go was available for us to get free drinks. I got a coconut latte on Tuesday and a peach smoothie on Wednesday. They were both so good.... I wish they had that every day!

Today at work we could dress up for Halloween. I was the only one in my department to dress up - although Brittanie was wearing a '70s-themed shirt. I wore this pirate costume.
