Today at work we could dress up for Halloween. I was the only one in my department to dress up - although Brittanie was wearing a '70s-themed shirt. I wore this
pirate costume. I wore black leggings instead of fishnet stockings (yeah, probably wouldn't be work appropriate!) and also had a skull and crossbones necklace, hoop earrings, and wore all the four rings I own on one hand. I did not have a sword (kinda needed my hands to work!), but I did have a satchel with a skull and crossbones on it attached to the belt where I kept my notepad and pen in to take orders.
And while I may have been the only one wearing a costume in my department, I was not the only staff to be wearing one! Carol, the head director, was a cowboy; Jill, who works on the payroll was dressed as a nerd with mismatched socks, a plaid shirt with a pocket protector, and glasses with duct tape; Lynn, who works in HR was a grape (lol!), Taryn was a viking, Brittany was a baby, Jamie was a cat.
A bunch of kids from the pre-school across the street came over and paraded around in their costumes, collected candy, and sang songs like "The Itsy Bitsy Spider." It was really cute even though I couldn't really watch them because I had to work in the dining room. I did hear them singing and I saw them in their costumes when they were outside coming over. I saw Snow White, Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz, Buzz Light Year, and a bunch of princesse and cowboys!
