Over and over in this comm, I read complaints about the price of clothing. I get that most people are on a budget, but it's a source of dismay that I have not once seen any pushback concerning the kinds of labor practices that make clothing cheap -- in particular, the kind of fast fashion that seems to be most popular here. The other day I was on tumblr and came across PORK's newest photos from a Wild West editorial. I must say I was quite disheartened and was not alone in this feeling, since, as I looked at the commentary it was apparent that many other people of color were upset as well.

Anyone in the Detroit area should come out for an amazing night of stories and poetry! All of the artwork on display will be from the Vagina Show an annual art show that takes part in V-Day, a global action to end violence toward women. Does anyone know the deal with the new universal health care and those of us who haven't been able to get insurance because of weight and/or other medical issues? I saw some things are going into effect within 6 months the rest of the changes will start in 2014.
