Well I am making this post from my spiffy new MacPro.  It's got a 2x2.66 GHz Duel-Core Intel Xeon processors with 2 GB 677 MHz DDR2 FB-DIMM memory and a 240 GB disc.  It is a very nice toy.

Though I will definitely be putting it through its paces.  In three weeks my co-worker is leaving.  I will be the only IT guy on staff here for a while.

Well I have to congratulate my co-worker Matt on getting a new job that he applied for.  It is more of a system administrators job.  It is more of what he wants to do and I am happy for him that way.  Though the fact that he'll be starting in like 2-3 weeks means that I will be the sole person around when come contest time at the end of February.  ( Read more... )

You know I could really do some serious slacking off today if I wanted to.  NONE of the CEMC managers are here today.  In fact none of the professor staff of the CEMC are here today.  I am not planning on doing that much slacking off but I could get away with it if I wanted to.

I just got the most bizarre letter in my mail at work.  It was an invitation to an information meeting for OSSTF (Ontario Secondary School Teachers' Federation).  I seems they are trying to recruit us CEMC staffers since we apparently fall under the category of "Educational Employees" that work with high schools.  I would say this is a bit of a ( Read more... )

So I had to cancel out on my D&D game tonight because I had to work late. For those on my friends list whom I haven't already apologized too I am sorry for bailing on that. I ended up working until 10:30 tonight. Since I started work around 8:30 this morning. I think I worked for 14 hours...I am exhausted and am going to sleep.

Saturday is going to be a depressing day for me.  Mainly because it is Remembrance Day.  I have always found Remembrance Day to be a sobering day for me.  This year its going to be ten times worse since my brother is oversees and in danger.  I got an email from him today that he sent to me along with a few his friends just reminding us about ( Read more... )
