I had such a good night's sleep and I think I am actually a little worried.  I went to bed at midnight and work up about 15 minutes ago.  I got up once during the night for a brief period.  That means I slept for about 9 hours and 45 minutes ago.  I can't remember when I last slept that long uninterrupted ( Read more... )

So I am back in Oshawa for what I hope will be a nice holiday of rest and relaxation.  The last couple of weeks have been busy and full of stress (mostly work related).  So it will be nice to relax with people I care about.

I haven't posted in a while but as most of you know I am still alive.  Thanksgiving weekend was relatively relaxing and I did some interesting things.  The best thing that happened on the weekend was that I got to talk to my brother.  He called home from Afghanistan while I was there.  He's doing pretty well although it is a bit shaken up as he's ( Read more... )

I just got off the phone with my mother.  She was relaying a call that she received from my brother.  He called to say that he was doing well and that he was leaving to go back out into the field.  The army is preparing to for the final stage of Operation Medusa.  Of course my mother and I were happy to know that my brother is safe.

My brother left sometime yesterday afternoon for his 6 month tour of duty in Afghanistan.  He's being deployed part of what they call Operation Archer and he's going to be station in the coalitions main military base Khanadar.  To the best of my knowledge he's going to be deployed as a gunner with the combat engineers.
