The full sized lorry that had been driven up from Norfolk with the level crossing panels on it failed to turn round in the station yard entrance, and spent 2 hours wedged across the road. Getting it out involved Michael crawling underneath it to break up and remove the monument block wedged under it that it had driven over, and shift a load of mud ( Read more... )

We had cracking day in Whitby, when we eventually got there. The 1st train was 1/2 an hour late, so it was touch and go as to whether we would be getting a bus from Grosmont, but we made up 20 minutes, a diesel was bunged on the front with steam on the back to save run round time, and we eventually made it to Whitby ( Read more... )

I went to the Osteopath yesterday, who seems pleased with my progress and doesn't want to see me for another 6 weeks. Thats another £60 saved. I did spend rather a lot in Tulliver's thought, so that might balance out. I had a very nice weekend with Julia, we got off in good time on Friday and arrived just after 12, and managed to upset one set of neighbours without even trying, as apparently our exhaust fumes were blowing over them as I tried to level up the van. We picked up Julia on Friday evening and headed over to Levisham, were we cooked some more of the rare breed lamb, which was lovely. Simon was on the box, so we just bummed around and drank sloe wine and mead until the others showed up.
