ok, sorry to say i have a strong DIS recommendation for a local vet, Girard animal Hospital. They quoted us a price of 265 for a tooth extraction in a 110 pound dog, plus a 38 dollar vet visit. first of all, Bella has her own LJ  now. bella_cash .

i forgot to mention that yesterday, after talking to several people, we "upgraded" Bella's dog food.  It will cost more per bag, but its very nutrient dense and apparently you dont feed as much of it....and i like the ingredient list.

kitty recovering well, so far
He has also started jumping onto my shoulder from behind, again... with no warning (and no claws out, fortunately) so i know he is feeling better.  amazing how you miss those annoying habits when your kids are sick.

The new medicine that they wanted him on finally came in, and HUZZAH! its a liquid, not a pill.

Hopeful news, so far so good....

Well, thanks to the wonders of kitty medicines with varied schedules, i had to get up at 4 am to give the cat a medicine dose. (can you say "ick"?)  but i did find that he had had a small bowel movement. (yeah!)

So when we had to get up at 7:30 to give him the *other* medicine , and then wait half an hour before ( Read more... )

The vet called this morning.  After giving Small Kidd an appetite stimulant and something to get his guts moving again, he ate the watered down food they gave him... and kept it down.  This is good, it means they got some kind of nutrition into him.

Now we wait and see if it moves all the way through, or just sits in his guts.
