first of all, Bella has her own LJ now.
bella_cash .
she also has her own facebook.... "Bella Cash"
i forgot to mention that yesterday, after talking to several people, we "upgraded" Bella's dog food. It will cost more per bag, but its very nutrient dense and apparently you dont feed as much of it....and i like the ingredient list.
we had a busy day despite ourselves.
bella and i took a LONG walk this morning, then we came home and worked on getting wayne up.
so around lunch time we got bella into the car and took a "just visiting!" trip to the Vet. i had arranged this because i remember how many of my dogs only associated car rides with "vet/shots" or "mom boarding me!" and if Bella ever does make service dog she has to be ok with cars.
given that her last adopters returned her.. i was especially concerned that she not just associate cars with bad things.
so
we went to the vet and just stopped into the wait room to say hi.
some of the techs came out and offered their condolances on Max... especially the one guy who always used to care for Max when the vet used to do boarding....
they ADORED Bella.
she wanted to go visit the other dogs, but she was good when i told her she couldnt.
our vet appt is tomorrow at 3:40 and i expect to have to buy something for her eye, as she has a touch of conjunctavitis in one eye. i suspect from being at the pound for so long...
sigh. the expenses do add up.
then we walked to the nearby park where wayne was parked to wait for us.
and THEN we saw a wonderful opportunity.. two policemen, one of them a bike cop!
so i asked if they were busy and Bella got to meet the bike cop, and he petted her and said she was lovely. and we chatted a bit...
then we went on walking and met a lady named Lucy and her three dogs! (one of them a standard Poodle, all three rescued!) so Bella got to prove she was a good girl with dogs! (ok, she did kind of keep rudely sniffing the one dog, but other than that)
THEN we got back in the car, and we stopped on the way home at the local fire/rescue station. She met three fire fighters (well i think one was rescue?) and got some water, and was all like "ok, ok, can we GO HOME now???"
and she was so tired she sort of SLOGGED into the car.
it wasnt THAT hot, but it was muggy.. and over the course of all this i think poor Bella got a bit overheated.
when we got home she climbed up the stairs REALLY SLOWLY (for her) and went FLOP.
