Hi! My husband just accepted a job teaching English in Himeji through the Sister Cities program. We're psyched. They haven't told us the departure date/procedure yet, but it looks like it will be in late August/early September. I'm arriving in Narita airport at 7pm at 2nd April. I need to get to Nagoya as soon as possible on a tight budget. I have a huge arse luggage that will probably not fit anywhere on the Shinkansen. On my way to H&M in Harajuku today, I saw that the building next door to it was under construction and the paper on one of the walls listing the specifications of the building said it was gonna be a Forever 21! I couldn't really read the paper, just the "FOREVER 21" bit (which was in English) but it said something about this January until April. ( Read more... )

This seems like a bit of a silly question, but I had a question about Himeji Station. I want to stop there on my way up to Osaka and spend a half-day, but I wanted to know if there are lockers I can use at the station or nearby. I'll have my little suitcase with me and really don't feel like dragging it around everywhere if it can be helped.

This is quite a specific question, but I was wondering if anyone familiar with Hiroshima knows of any hotels which are close to the ALSOK Hall? It's just I'm going to a couple of concerts there in January, and it would make things so much easier to have a hotel that's in walking distance.
