Went out to Oak Grove Cemetery again, but didn't go in, just used it as a way point. I wanted to find that body of water I saw on the map my last ride. Found it, and rolled along the Mystic Valley Parkway until I got to Winchester. Och, such a lovely little arcadian place :) There's nothing there, there really isn't, but it's a pretty spot. Went on a little scouting ride to parts of West Medford. I'd be out there before with Bill and James a while ago on a spontaneous bicycling excursion. We got lost, and it started to rain, and there was bike trouble along the way. It was something of an adventure ( Read more... )

First thing this morning I had to change my front tire. I've been cycling much more regularly now and the old '85 whitewall that came with the bike is literally threadbare in places, just asking for a catastrophic blowout or something unpleasant. in Harvard Square. It's that clunky, late-60's era building on Brattle Street (after the shops run out as you leave the Square).

A little birdy (nissus) whispered into my ear that the local Pearl art supply place (in Atlanta) is closing.

Some internet sleuthing has turned up other closings by the end of the month.
