It's a rainy Tuesday night, and everyone is home at the farm. Trixstir and I took the girls to Swift Current this afternoon so that Elizabeth could get checked out by the pediatrician.      A couple days ago, the installer for Xplornet was here to see if he could find out what was wrong with our satellite internet service.  He determined that the problem was with the modem, and tried to see if Xplornet would cough up a new one as the warranty had expired.  It should be noted that Xplornet made us sign a Three-Year contract, but ( Read more... )

Xplornet is a Canada-wide company that uses satellites to provide internet access to out-of-the-way places, like..  Oh...  a farm in the southwestern edge of Saskatchewan.  They don't actually have their own satellite network (yet) but they piggy-back off HughesNet, who actually supplies the equipment and the service.  ( Read more... )

I don't mind shelling out a few bucks for shop/service manuals, but I really don't like having to shell out any amount of $$ for an owner's manual.  In this day and age when pretty much everything can be scanned and archived into computers, there's no reason that companies can't keep PDF versions of their manuals online ( Read more... )
