     The circus was in town yesterday; I got two free adult passes to the show since I allowed them to put up one of their posters in the shop.  We got two more tickets for my Mom and The Kidling, and the whole family went to see it last night.  It was pretty good for one of those small travelling shows, and The Munchkin seemed to really enjoy it ( Read more... )

     The Munchkin has slowly been improving, which is more than I can say for myself; My cold has gotten progressively worse, with my head stuffed up so much I can barely breathe, my chest badly congested, and my throat dry and very sore.  Halls cough-drops definitely help my throat, but I can't be sucking on those all day.  I've had the shop ( Read more... )

     trixstir just got back from the hospital with the Munchkin; Apparently she has a case of Croup, a fairly common childhood infection.  According to the staff at the hospital, it's making its way around town, so it's not terribly surprising that she has it.  Now I'm just wondering if my own sore throat came from her, or whether I gave it to her.  I ( Read more... )

I was at the Elk's meeting tonight when I got a text from trixstir; Would I please come to the bowling alley ASAP because she had to leave the Kidling to run it while she took the Munchkin to the doctor!

I excused myself right away and rushed over to the bowling alley where the Kidling told me that Trixstir had rushed the Munchkin to the hospital. ( Read more... )

     Despite the warm temperatures, and running the shop-vac/heater contraption, the well remains frozen.  This evening, I boiled about four gallons of water and poured it down the shaft, as much onto the problem-spot as I possibly could.  It seems to have helped, as it's now melted most of the ice, and I can actually see the pitless adapter.  ( Read more... )
