There just seems to be no end to The Stupid, and the aggravation that it causes. I've been trying to get the data entered into the accounting software in preparation for the accountant's visit tomorrow.      I've spent about the last seven hours going over the bank and credit-card statements for Iron Pony, reconciling them with the accounting software.  It's all fine and dandy when things link up properly, but even one incorrect or missed entry can cause a great amount of frustration and delay.  Thankfully, there were very few, but it was enough ( Read more... )

     Really not having a fun day; Stress levels are through the roof, and I'm about ready to bite someone's head off.  Preferably the head off a dark-chocolate easter bunny, as they say that dark chocolat helps relieve stress.  I've got some Cadbury's dark chocolate fruit-and-nut bars at home, but that doesn't do me much good here at the shop ( Read more... )

     It's been such a fun week so far (and last week too!)   I just love sitting in front of the computer punching in accounting data until my eyes bleed.  And it's even more fun when I find out that the accountants made some errors that I'm going to have to to have them correct - or show me where I went wrong.  I'm pretty sure they're the ones ( Read more... )

     It's been a week of ups and downs to be sure.  Right at the moment though, I'm feeling the edges of a headache coming on from assorted stress-inducing issues I've been fighting all day.  The biggest stress-maker today has been U-Haul, and the accounting that's related to it.

The good news is that more work arrived.  The bad news is that there's already a back-log of work waiting to be done, and I wound up spending the entire day doing paperwork again.  Even more frustrating when one of the main reasons the paperwork took so long was because of errors made by other people!  Typos, ( Read more... )

I am glad that my friend equattraction  pretty much insisted that I get a decent accounting program and learn how to use it.  We're using QuickBooks-Pro for the bowling-alley and Iron Pony, and while it's a pain to have to key in all that data, it sure makes it a lot easier to keep everything in order, and see where you ( Read more... )

     Little by little, I'm getting the data plugged into the accounting software to see how we did in 2010.  I've just finished entering the information for my primary vendors for Iron Pony.  I had to enter that first, since that shows where all my inventory comes from - Pretty hard to make out a bill for someone if you don't have the inventory ( Read more... )
