Watched the Oscars tonight, was less than impressed with the art direction of the show. Also, suck failure, 'Avatar' - you won exactly the awards you deserved, the technical ones. I was also a fan of Kathryn Bigelow winning over James Cameron all over the place. And finally, I was struck by the number of nominated films I'd not even heard of. ( Read more... )

I took a long weekend and went to Dayton, OH to see one of my closest friends from Arizona get married. I drove up by myself (just over 8 hours each way), which was more or less an adventure; a long time in an enclosed space by myself leads to me being crazier than usual.
