Among the other events of Saturday, my school had its Christmas Concert! My kids did way better than I expected - when we practiced all they did was roll around on the floor and not pay any attention to me, but for the actual day they managed to pull it together and everybody sang and danced properly and nobody really cried. I was impressed!

We've had two days of class so far, and I'm still not used to being the Toddler teacher. It doesn't really help that most of the kids in the Nursery class moved up from my Oyako Class, so they're all pretty well attached to me. Granted, I'm keeping most of them next year, but still. We don't have anything really exciting planned for Wednesday (our last lesson day) - just playing outside (if the weather holds) and then playing with toys in the afternoon. Friday afternoons I spend most of my daycare shifts in with the Kinders (age 4~6). We've developed a bit of a.... game thing during free play where the girls hand me different stuffed animals, I name them, and then all the kids come along and steal them away from me and I pretend to cry and get all upset because they're being mean to me ( Read more... )

Today one of my youngest kids (she'll be repeating Nursery next year because she's too young to move up) kept sticking her hands in her dress pockets during Circle Time.

So we decided to play what's in your pockets, preciousssssss? and found:

A handful of acorns.

Somebody's baby tooth.
