I finally got my Workers' Comp settlement check! I mostly didn't mind waiting, since they were still sending me weekly checks while they processed the big one, but I spent a bunch of money lately (on mostly necessary but expensive things) and with Xmas coming up...I'm glad to have finally gotten the check, is all. We're house/cat-sitting in Arlington this week. Eleven day job at a "modest" stipend of $30/day = YES PLS. Plus the house is beautiful, and the cat is really sweet. Sunday morning, after I watched the President read Dr. Seuss, I went over to the animal shelter for my training shift. I'm a "cat card scribe": I write descriptions of the cats to put on their cages and on PetFinder. Basically, I "sell" the cats. It's like marketing, only it's not evil. So Census applicants are ranked for potential hiring by a combination of veteran status and score on the aptitude test. I am not a veteran, but I did just get a perfect score on the test, so...I'm optimistic.
