I had known Elisabeth Sladen (who died today at the age of 63) almost exclusively as Sarah Jane Smith, ( rest in peace dear Elisabeth 'Sarah Jane' Sladen. )

Last January I read (and reviewed here)  Harvey Pekar's Our Cancer Year which was about the messy pain of his survival of cancer, but he did survive...

Some friends & I had gotten onto the topic of hospitals, and hospitalization...  and it is an intriguing topic:

I'm reminded that the Sci-fi channel is rerunning Stephen King's horror story of the crazed scary hospital:
Kingdom Hospital is on a marathon tonight...if you care (he is too gross for me)

I’ve been watching ‘Dead Like Me’, a very funny comedy about an 18 year old girl who dies and becomes a Grim Reaper (turns out they need a lot to help remove the souls from the dead and direct them to the afterlife).
Our heroine is a typically disconnected disengaged teenager whose response to just about everything is:   ‘whatever’.
