It was late afternoon, siesta time for a lot of us down here in the stifling heat and humidity. This morning I went to the pond early. As I drove in I saw this beautiful male Wood Duck sitting on a rock on the bank. I thought maybe he was still sleeping or just waking up, or maybe just drowsy in the warm sun. He looked so cute all curled up in a little compact package.
