It was late afternoon, siesta time for a lot of us down here in the stifling heat and humidity. I looked around for some of my sisters and brothers, but they had already found the best cool, dark places and were napping away, and so I decided to hop on down to the pond and see what was going on there.
I saw a Great Blue on the bank, but as soon as I rounded the corner, darn if he didn’t fly up to the top of a tree and just sit there watching me.
I quickly spotted one of my favorite things . . . lily pads. There are still some left that the turtles haven’t eaten yet. Oh, they are beautiful.
I walked (er, I mean hopped) all the way around the pond and took pictures of some of them. Here’s two . . .
