I got up a little earlier than usual, arrived at Robinson about 6:50 a.m. and sunrise was just happening. And to the west I got a shot of the moon, too!

My "live in" spotter was on the job again. He called me to the window about 11:20 p.m. last night to see this extremely bright golden orange, pumpkin-colored moon appearing a little above the tree line horizon in the northeast corner of the back yard. My first attempt taking a shot of the Super Moon on a tripod and with manual settings. I took this at 5:54 p.m. from our back yard as the moon was quickly rising over the trees. Last Saturday we had a birthday party here for the Three Amigos and Kathleen, that’s Pete and two of his buddies, Jim and Jon-- who make up the Three Amigos, and Kathleen, sister-in-law of Jim. Today Pete decided to trim one of the oak trees while most of the limbs were bare. We try and do this every winter so we can actually see the dead limbs and what needs trimming without all the leaves in the way.
