I have loved this day so hard, this day that began with snuggling both my husband and my child and continued with me climbing back into bed for more sleep. My beloved brother, Kenny Knox, died last night little before midnight from pneumonia.  I got here in plenty of time to say my goodbyes. He was surrounded by people who love him and it was very peaceful at the end.  he was well taken care of by hospice and he was not in pain and he was not scared. we took off his oxygen mask after giving him some ( Read more... )

Kenny is very very very sick.  I am packing now for an early AM flight to Denver.

There are too many things to say.  Updates as I can manage them.

Some of you may have heard me talk about my mother's recent problems with her crazy neighbors, who were basically trying to force her and my brother into moving through complaining to the city that they were not in proper compliance with the zoning regulations for the neighborhood because there were too many residents in the house.  This is what my ( Read more... )

I walked back into my house at 7 PM on Tuesday night, put down my bags, hugged and kissed my husband, checked my e-mail for messages from my students, talked to Tish for 30 minutes, and fell into bed. the news about Kenny today is not so good. Last night at around 5 AM he threw up bile while using a CPAPusing a. The bile was then forced into his lungs, and today has developed into pneumonia.  they have already started him on antibiotics, the same ones they used to treat him last time he had pneumonia, so now we just have to wait and see.  His ( Read more... )

Kenny is out of surgery and everything went well. They will be at the hospital for several days yet, at the very least through Monday.  Really really good news is that his stomach is still doing at least a little bit of digestion, just not enough to keep them alive, so the family will be able to continue to give him small amounts of food by mouth ( Read more... )
