Overall, research week one went very well. We're making quick progress so far, and we already have over 65 samples, which is exciting. I'm trying not to think about how many hours in front of a microscope that will translate into. On Food
I think I just set a record: I haven't eaten dinner in a dining hall since Tuesday night. I had JA dinner at Morty's on Wednesday, then went out to eat Thurs, Fri, Sat (breakfast and dinner), and then Sam and I decided to do co dinner tonight. Positively epic! Ah, February.
Today's lab was in Hopkins Forest, and it was stunningly beautiful. We had steady snowfall, decent accumulation, relatively warm temperatures, and black birch twigs to munch on (which taste strongly of wintergreen -- it's amazing!). I made it through midterms, so now it's back to the "usual" grind, which isn't necessarily better, just different. This weekend had its ups and downs, but the highlight was definitely the screw dance on Saturday. The concept is the common college one where you're paired with a person (roommate, neighbor, entrymate) and each has to set up a blind ( Read more... ) -

This weekend has been a welcome change from the last two or three weeks, which were quite insane thanks to things like JA stuff and tutorial papers.
