This summer, I have done the following:

• Karen & I danced at Alameda's Obon
• Dim Sum at the Hong Kong Lounge with Thuy, Michael, Ariel, Thuy's brother & niece
• Had my 27th annual celebration breakfast of surviving the first six months with the City
• Family Vacation
• Seen Theatreworks' The Confederates

Thursday, July 14th: Heat & humidity got me, so I ended up only running a bit over a mile, walking the rest.

Met up with cousins Darrin, Satomi, Joey, Scotty & Akemi at Dave and Busters for lunch and yakking. Darrin was still conscious, he'd just gotten off shift. Pokemon Go was a major discussion point for kidlets and their cousins. I played ( Read more... )

Cancer has claimed yet another cousin. Rod passed away this morning at 2:24am from Stage 4 colon cancer.

Damn.

Friday, July 8th, immediately after work (and work has been crazy the last few months), loaded up Eeyore II and took off for Los Angeles. T'was me, Karen, Kyle and Alani. This past weekend, Karen, Alani, Kyle and I drove down to Gardena for Auntie Asako's memorial service. She was Mom's older sister - the 6th of 9 kids. Thinking of Dad on his 90th Birthday

Went to the chapel on Saturday. Added an orchid for Mom as it was Mother's Day, but didn't think about adding a rose for Dad's 90th. I usually add something special for the "decade" birthday. *sigh*

It was a crazy two day feast - we had 41 people on Thursday & 23 people for leftovers on Friday. Had several people cancel at the last minute - sick was the main reason *sigh*.
