The Easter weekend was very much family business. We had a lot of visitors, including Grandma staying with us. Two of my aunties and my Nanna came down, as well as my parents. I went and saw the band Like Thieves last night. I wasn't expecting a big crowd as the promotion had been very limited (ie: none), but I thought that "Clint from The Butterfly Effect" would draw a few numbers in. Those numbers were very low though. We are on the first days of our coastal holiday, we've made a kind of settling in period before really trying to settle in to real life.

The return of a couple of old faces and the addition of some new recruits has made the whole Livejournal experience more enjoyable in recent days. Have spent the weekend in Rancagua. On Saturday, as I mentioned we went up into the mountains, up passed the El Teniente mine. That is one of the biggest in Chile and my brother in law is actually one of the jefes (bosses) there. 2IC I believe. He got offered a job in Perth but he decided not to take it. This morning we got up real early and dropped Mum, Dad and Alison off at the airport- they are off to Rapa Nui (Easter Island) and then Tahiti- that would be a good way to go back to Australia, I hope we do visit Rapa Nui at some stage while we are over here, it would be a pretty amazing place ( Read more... )
