After two phone calls and three emails I finally heard  the bad but not unexpected news from Cheryl: the Center hired a new temp who was supposed to leave by now but they're going to keep her on until the 30th. For the Salter canine, Mother's Day was not a bundle of joy, which might be appropriate for a dog we found jumping up against her cage in the pound, back when such means of getting a home companion were still en vogue. Grandma Rachel's graveside service was nice and well-attended. Lots of Lupers, Higginbothams, Hausers and Salters were there, as well as the Hansons, Wises, Strouts, Darryl Mallory and Jane Carter. I just have to say that watching the double jeopardy round of the Jeopardy Teen Tournament with Emma and Dad, particularly when one of the categories is "Shakespeare," is probably the most fun I've had all day. We got every question right. I love being in a smart family!
