It's National Medical Laboratory Professionals Week. Quite a mouthful, but I like how it covers every kind of lab worker, from phlebotomists to MLTs to Histotechs. I have another new job. Same place, same supervisor, new role. Same pay, but slightly more hours (4 more per week), so we'll see how my sanity fares as far as school goes. Work is crazy but I'm still loving it. I don't ever want this feeling to go away. A coworker found out I was an MLT and asked if I was going to move into that kind of position if one opened up. Earlier this week, Monica and I had dinner at Chelsea and Riley's house. I can honestly say it has been years since the three of us have sat down in the same place. Chelsea made dinner and we brought salad and dessert. I was able to see their apartment on Willy street, which is a really cool neighborhood. It reminds me of an edgier Monroe street.

My coworker who works the opposite shift of mine (her days on are my days off) is looking for a new place outside of Madison, and asked me if I would consider working weekdays while she takes weekends, to cut down her commute.

Last night I worked the tube station by myself (mostly) for the first time. There were other specimen processors in the send-outs area until about a half hour before the end of my shift, so I was never totally alone. My first day of work was a whirlwind. I think I'll be able to express my thoughts better after a few more days on the job. Suffice it to say my brain will be pulled in several directions at once pretty regularly.
