Very slowly catching up with new season US TV. Thanks go the Jane the Virgin for outrageous hot dad beefcake. Some might say it was gratuitous shirtless baby cuddling but I, for one, felt it entirely necessary to the plot and character development.

Mostly though I'm watching all the dancing shows and all the baking shows.

I think I've got the hang of a bread recipe that works for me. Based on a sourdough starter for flavour but with some instant yeast to push the proving along faster. The new US TV is not as inspiring as past seasons. There is an epic amount of white guy, white guy, blonde woman. There's been perhaps way too much voice over action. Nothing is recommending itself to me with a lot of passion.

Matador had me at 'undercover as a soccer player'. It seems to be playing for graphic violence with a humorous edge and slightly Bond-style villains. First episode feels like a cross between Chuck and CSI: Miami which is about as disconcerting as you imagine.
