I think I've got the hang of a bread recipe that works for me. Based on a sourdough starter for flavour but with some instant yeast to push the proving along faster. I've been over-proving sourdough and finding it hard to time it right. It's all very well putting it in the fridge during the work day but yes, anyway. My bread, I have it.
What else? Being opinionated on Tumblr. Missing my old found family shows, Leverage and Nikita most of all.
Doctor Who new episodes are mostly good but with the usual Moffat shenanigans. Peter Capaldi is fantastic and I've started to wonder if perhaps the Doctor is the kind of character that anyone can play, that it isn't hard to cast a good Doctor, you just need a good actor and between us, actors, creative team and audience, we make the Doctor work.
Taxi Brooklyn season finished with a doozy of a cliffhanger. Hope it's renewed. I've got to work out what to bookmark to find that info when I need it rather than looking up Wikipedia hoping someone has done the work for me. There's just too many TV sites is all and, in this case, Wikipedia has let me down.
I picked up Chasing Shadows because Noel Clarke and Alex Kingston, but the main character is a special white man detective who is neuroatypical. It was going okay (lots of Alex Kingston, some delicious Noel Clarke) but it seems that Alex Kingston will at the very least be kidnapped/unconscious for most of the second episode. I'll continue to give it a go but Holy Hannah I'm over special white men who have to be catered to.
Teen Wolf season 4 wrapped up very satisfyingly indeed for Teen Wolf standards of satisfying, meaning there will always be plot developments that make absolutely no sense. Or may make sense sometime in the future. Maybe. The show continues to do less well by Lydia than fandom manages. You can't help but have reservations when a girl's superpower is, essentially, screaming and being too late. (Being brilliant is her human power. She always had that.) I liked this season much, much better than 3B, or as it is also known, "Dylan O'Brien chews the scenery with the gusto of an actor twice his age." Feel free to spoil me if you know who, if anyone, is leaving the show.
Here are a couple of Derek/Braeden recs I made earlier today on twitter. They're shorts on tumblr, sorry! I deeply love the way S4 Derek bent his neck to Braeden and sometimes flirted by looking away and down, such an alluring give and take of assertion and submission. Halfhardtorock really gets that groove, that lovely kind of porn we get in fandom that is stuffed full of characterisation.
