Edmonton Oilers' forward Gilbert Brule and his girlfriend stop for hitchhikers in Vancouver. One of them is Bono.

Bono's comment on the incident later that night:

"I like ice hockey because people who play ice hockey are the kind of people who pick up hitchhikers."

And there you go.

( Our U2 clip for the day involves Bono telling Jonathan Ross about the time Edge slugged him. I like Bono and do not condone violence, but I still find this funny. )

U2 play "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For" with Bruce Springsteen (who after this summer may be the last rock musician on my bucket list.) It's a cool performance, but I admit, I especially like the little excerpt from Edge's thank-you speech. Nicest face in rock'n'roll, no contest.

Ahem. I'd heard about this book for years but I never read it because, frankly, the title gave me the creeps. However, now it's a movie, opening in Ireland (and the UK?) on April Fool's Day. No, it's not strictly historically accurate, but it does look entertaining.
