Realized I'd not posted AT ALL, all week except for last Sunday. Wow.

Anyway, it's been rather cold out there. Yesterday, we were 4 degrees below normal for the high (48F) and ended up 13 degrees below normal for our low, which hit a bone chilling 26F overnight. It's been around freezing or so all week at night, well once we got past Monday anyway ( Read more... )

Yep, still can't use speed 2 with the AC, but I now can use it with speeds 1, 3, and 4, whew!

I had made a quick run out to the car after lunch to crack the windows a little since it sits in the sun at work and noted that both speeds 2, and 3 didn't let the AC work, unless I put the speed switch in the in between speeds position, then I can get ( Read more... )

Yep, and sorry, no photos to prove it, but yes, I got it to where the AC will work at least mostly OK in fan speeds 2-3, and 1 and 4 seem a bit more solid than they had been for the past couple of days. This is despite the car being in the sun, on the street, and it being black and the temps now at 83F at 2.36pm. Yes, it took me that long to get it ( Read more... )

That is, I'm going to be doing as such here. Been researching the issue and it seems that with the Mazda Protege models, from 2001-2003 (02-03 for the Protege 5) the main logic boards have resistance values that were inadequate when temps get to a certain range and the AC shuts off, but later, it eventually becomes an issue where it simply won't ( Read more... )

It's Saturday morning, and we are in the midst of periodic windy weather and heavy showers through much of the day today, and it's supposed to die down by late tonight, and began last evening sometime.

Drove into work yesterday with the space saver spare on the car and further looking at the damaged tire and I can see the tiny break in the sidewall. Still am waiting for the tire to arrive at the Northgate store so I can get that dealt with before too much longer ( Read more... )
